Save 30% up to $200 shopping on eBay!

October 13th, 2008

Well, I thought everyone could use this handy link.  So in a nutshell, live.com is offering cashback up to 30% (capped at $200 per transaction up to $2500/yr) for searching thru their site and then buying on eBay.  In a nutshell, go here’s how it works step-by-step…

  1. Go to live.com
  2. Do a search for a popular item
    1. Sony Playstation 3
    2. Nintendo Wii
    3. Sony Vaio
  3. At the top after you clicked search, you should see a section that is highlighted and in bold.  Next to it, it should read “Live Search Cashback” and have an ebay.com link.  Click on this link.
  4. Once you are in eBay, you’ll want to search for only BIN (Buy It Now) listings.  In order to qualify for the 30% off, you’ll need to purchase and pay with PayPal within 30 days of purchase and the listing has to be a BIN option.  Be sure to read the terms and conditions.
  5. Please note that if you don’t see a live.com search box on your confirmation page to purchase the item, something has gone wrong.  Clear your browser cookies and start over.
  6. After you complete the sale, you should receive an email in your “My Messages” section of eBay.  This will instruct you on how to setup your live.com account to collect your cashback.
  7. You should see a PayPal credit, check or bank wire (whatever you select) in approximately 60 days!

That is it!  I’ve already used this trick to save some money on new nursery stuff for our baby that is due in February.  We saved $42.00 on the auction just by using the above method.

I hope this saves someone some money…in today’s crazy economy, every little bit helps!

We’re moving our Moline store…

August 5th, 2008

Just a quick post to alert you of a change to operations at Auction Solved & The Shipping Hub.  We will be moving our Moline/Illinois store to our Bettendorf location next week Wednesday.

So what does this mean?

Well, the only real change is you’ll have to visit our larger location in Bettendorf for all of your shipping and auction needs.  We’ve had a great time in Moline, but our business and storage needs have changed and we feel having the one larger location in Bettendorf will serve our customers much better.   Nick from Moline will join us over in Iowa and we’ll be able to serve you with more staff in one location.

What does this mean for current auctions in Moline?  After the close of business this evening, we won’t be accepting any new auctions in Moline.  All current auctions will be moved over to Bettendorf, so in case you need to pick something up, it will be at our Iowa location after Wednesday (8/13/08).  All unsold auctions that are over a month old will need to be picked up by Monday evening.  We will keep our regular business hours thru next Monday in Moline.

Should you have any questions at all, feel free to contact us at either number until next Wednesday (8/13/08).

563-359-7653
309-764-7653

Just for your records, our Bettendorf location is in Duck Creek plaza right next to Merle Norman and Cartridge World.  If you were to walk out of Home Depot’s front door, you’d walk right into our Iowa location.

The address is:
908 Middle Road
Bettendorf, IA  52722

Thanks for your continued patronage,

Our first eBay class was a success…a few things we talked about…

April 28th, 2008

Our eBay class this past Saturday was a lot of fun and very informative. We had a small group of people that made the class very dynamic and interactive. Throughout the class I mentioned quite a few tools I/we use when listing items on eBay. I thought others might find it useful to. Click HERE to see all those resources we talked about.

I’ve also added another class and REDUCED the price. The new class will be on May 21st which is Wednesday and run from 6:15 pm - 9:15 pm. I know weekends can be hard sometimes to schedule so I thought I’d offer a weeknight class. I’m limiting this course to 15 people so register today to make sure you secure your spot. Click HERE to see more details on the upcoming course and to register today.

Also, below the car pics I’ve enclosed a 10% off commission coupon. Feel free to print that puppy off and bring it in to save on some eBay listings. Limit one coupon per customer per visit!
